I’m currently a senior at Ferris State University in the Television and Digital Media Production Program. I am from Grand Rapids Michigan and graduated from Grand Rapids Central High School where I was very socially and academically active. Since a child I loved creating things with bright colors from painting on walls to photography. While attending Ferris State University I’ve been able to express my creativity from projects created and classes taken, which ranged from Television and Digital Media Production, Painting, Drawing, Graphic Design and Producing. I’m open to all ideas and challenges that I’m faced with and I feel that my personality, work ethic is tough and resilient. I never quit nothing that I started and work extremely hard to finish it, this was all started by having my first paid job at the age of seven years old working with a non-profit teen organization making me the youngest in the program to particiapate . I love my community of the Grand Rapids area and hope to one-day give back to the community. My ultimate goal I feel in life is to take my creative talents and use those to help inner city kids find another outlet in life. A creative and safe one Just as someone did for me during my childhood, so I have this urge to “pay it forward” for those in need.At the moment I am trying to obtain experience in the field of media production. Overall,I’m looking forward to sharing my creative skills and hardworking attitude with others as well as receiving constructive input from them.
I am also a lovely lady of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. and held positions as President, Vice President and Historian for multiple semesters. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded January 16, 1920 on the campus of Howard University in Washington D.C. by five coeds. These five women, Arizona Cleaver Stemmons, Viola Tyler Goings, Myrtle Tyler Faithful, Fannie Pettie Watts, and Pearl Anna Neal dared to depart from the traditional coalitions for Black women and sought out to establish a new organization predicted on the precepts of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood. Over 100,000 college educated, professional women dedicate themselves to the objectives and ideals of the sorority. The Sorority was the first Greek-letter organization to charter a chapter in West Africa (1948) and Germany. It was also the first organization to form adult and youth auxiliary groups, the Amicae, Archonettes, Amicettes, and Pearlettes. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. remains to be the first and only Greek-letter organization to be constitutionally bound to a brother group, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated. In order for a true change to occur, it must take place with the cooperation of both genders. That is why we walk hand in hand with our brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc is a community conscious action oriented organization. Another organization that I was active in was the Scholar Peer Mentor Program where I mentored and welcomed incoming freshmen to the campus as a new friend.
LIVE LIFE BRIGHT!
